Laser therapy is a non-invasive approach that uses targeted light energy to support cellular signaling, circulation, and recovery. At Total Vitality Group, laser therapy is used as part of an individualized care plan, guided by clinical context and, when appropriate, objective findings.

What Is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy delivers specific wavelengths of light to tissue to support normal physiological processes. Depending on the type of laser and clinical goal, this may be used to support comfort, reduce inflammation-related stress, and promote functional recovery. Laser therapy is not a substitute for medical evaluation or emergency care, and it is not appropriate for every individual.

Two Laser Technologies We Use

Low-Level Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation)

Device: Erchonia 405 FX

Low-level laser therapy is a non-thermal modality designed to support cellular communication and regulation without tissue stress. This approach is frequently used within the Brain Restore Program due to its compatibility with neurological care and its role in supporting neuroplastic processes.

  • Non-invasive and non-thermal
  • Often used for neurological support and recovery protocols
  • Selected based on individualized goals and clinical findings
High-Power Laser Therapy (Class IV)

Device: Phoenix Thera-Lase (Class IV)

High-power laser therapy delivers higher energy output and deeper tissue penetration. This modality is typically used for musculoskeletal applications such as pain, inflammation, and injury recovery when clinically appropriate.

  • Deeper tissue applications
  • Commonly used for musculoskeletal concerns
  • Included selectively based on assessment and tolerance

Laser Therapy Within the Brain Restore Program

Within Brain Restore, laser therapy is not used as a standalone intervention. Selection, placement, and frequency are informed by brain mapping data and clinical assessment so that laser can support broader goals related to regulation, recovery, and resilience.

What to Expect

  • Comfortable, non-invasive session: you remain fully clothed and seated or positioned comfortably.
  • Time: session length varies based on the care plan and areas treated.
  • No downtime: most individuals return to normal activity right away.

Safety and Appropriateness

Laser therapy is generally well tolerated. Your care team will review any relevant history and determine whether laser therapy is appropriate for your goals. If you have urgent neurological symptoms or a medical emergency, seek immediate medical evaluation.

Next Step

If you are exploring Brain Restore, your best first step is objective brain mapping (qEEG) to help guide personalized recommendations.

Laser Therapy FAQ

Is laser therapy safe?

Laser therapy is non-invasive and generally well tolerated when used appropriately. Your provider will review your history and determine whether laser therapy is suitable for your goals and care plan.

Does laser therapy hurt?

No. Most patients describe the experience as comfortable. Low-level laser therapy is non-thermal and does not generate heat. Sensations, if any, are typically mild.

How long does a laser therapy session take?

Session length varies depending on the area treated and how laser therapy is being used within your care plan.  Your provider will review expectations during your visit.

Is laser therapy used on its own?

Laser therapy is typically used as part of a broader, individualized care plan. Within Brain Restore, it is selected intentionally based on clinical assessment and objective findings rather than applied as a standalone treatment.
